Mr Smid appointed his friend Dr Stolbova as the new Pharmacovigilance Head who had little if any experience in this area. Than together with his advisor Ms Sabatova he promtly refused the quality software by PharmaSoft in 1995, an offer who was sent to Mr Capek, the then Pharmakovigilance expert of SUKL from Pharmasoft.
This was in 1995 - and Mr Capek was blacklisted for yet another reason.
This is now quite obvious that if the then Director of Prague SUKL Mr Smid (just imagine, a high ranking officer of the WHO AT PRESENT representing the WHO pharmaceutical policies worldwide!!!) had not rejected the offer negotiated by Mr Capek, SUKL could have had a top quality integrated pharmacovigilance & regulatory affairs intelligence system compatible with world & WHO standards, respected by manufacturers worldwide for more than 10 years now.
Regrettably, this did not happen: Mr Smid & Sabartova had their own vision of their SUKL's future and close ties to the SUPPLIERS OF THEIR OWN.. Why? (look for the answer in the website
